2008 Reprint of 1878 Original.
This is a reproduction of one of the earliest hand-colored maps of Door County. The inclusion of the inset of Jenny is not a mistake. Now known as Merrill, Jenny was the county seat of Lincoln County, which took another entire page in the original atlas. To include a description of Jenny in the atlas, it was added to the Door County page where there was adequate unused space. The addition also provides some balance to the sheet.
Note that several of the place names featured on the map--Malakof, Warrens Corners, and Sawyer, for example--are no longer in use and have disappeared from contemporary maps of Door County.
